Because of his lengthy and solid career as a feature and animation film director, Carlos Carrera received the Cabrito de Plata award during a tribute organized in Honor of his Artistic Career by the Monterrey International Film Festival.

During the ceremony, the filmmaker participated in a questions and answers session directed by actress Giovanna Zacarías. He was asked about his interest in filmmaking. “I always had a talent for drawing and always expressed myself through drawings; this is how the need to express myself through this media started. What I lacked is how to make a living with this, so I enrolled in Communications and then in film school, trying to learn something about filmmaking”, Carlos answered.

Before receiving the Cabrito de Plata award, Juan Manuel González, Director of the Monterrey IFF, gave Carlos Carrera a painting of the Cerro de la Silla as a reminder of his stay in the city and his participation in the Festival.

Afterwards, the Arts and Culture Council of Nuevo León’s Technical Secretary, Katzir Meza, delivered the official presentation of the award in representation of CONARTE and said some words to Carrera where he exalted his contribution to the arts and fiction cinema.

Before closing the event, Monterrey’s public enjoyed for the first time in the city Carrera’s most recent film Childhood.
